The "Queen of Melody" and the "Voice Queen of India," Shreya Ghoshal, is one of the most established playback singers of the Indian music industry. Ghoshal always wanted to pursue a career in singing and started formal training in classical music at the age of six. After attending Late Kalyanji Bhai’s training classes for 18 months, she gave her first stage performance in a club’s annual function. In 2000, Ghoshal participated in her first major singing reality show, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ (now called 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'), and won the show. She started her career by singing Bengali songs and then caught the attention of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who roped in for his next film. Ghoshal sang five songs in Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ (2002). Her first song was ‘Bairi Piya’, which topped the charts and won her a National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer and a Filmfare for Best Female Playback Singer. After garnering immense popularity, Ghoshal got mainstream opportunities and sang several hit songs, including ‘Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai’, ‘Pyaar Bhara Geet’, and ‘Tu Hi Bata Zindagi’, among others. In the following years, there were no failures for Ghoshal, and she has been only following the graph of going upwards in her career. Ghoshal has sung more than 2,765 songs until 2021.
